THREE WEEKS TO GO

The final week's indoor preparations are with us next week, on Saturday with hardball at South Craven and at Oakbank for the soft-ballers. Then comes the big switch to outside if the ground is fit enough. Eric and his team of ground-work volunteers have already started the pre-season rolling and he says the square is looking really good. The first Friday, the 3rd of April is Easter so you all get a week off but on the following Tuesday the Seniors should be in the outdoor nets and on the Friday which will also be signing-on day, the younger [u9, u11 & u13] teams will hopefully be blowing away the cobwebs. The girls squads will have a classroon session on the new format, rules and team management, prior to a run round on the grass.

The fixtures are all to hand now incluing the u-13 hardball pairs for girls. The seniors are first onto the square with the 18th April as official start day. The Second XI will be at home to Thornton whilst the Firsts travel to long-time rivals Cullingworth from whom we extracted two stunning wins in 2025. On the following day our Sunday Team will pop down the valley to Crossflatts to get their campaign under-way. First juniors into action are the u18s on Thursday with a 'Hundred' format match against Cup Final opponents Bowling Baptists. The same night the Hardball Pairs [u11] lads will head over to Sutton. Sunday morning sees the u13 girls entertain our friends from Gt Horton Church at 9:30am. On Monday 27th our u-13 team will try and take the points from Steeton on their midden. Two days later the under-15s will speed down the bypass to take on Skipton. The soft-ballers get off the mark with a home battle with Harden. Tail-end Charlies are the under-15 Girls who also trip down to Crossflatts for their first taste of 11-aside 'proper' cricket.
